I hope that you will enjoy reading the following script I had to complete for a University assignment. I must warn you before you start reading, that I was experimenting with Tim Burton themes, and anyone who knows his work can understand the darkness and brilliance. Therefor the script does appear a little dark and sadistic but I assure you, there is no need to fear as I am nothing like how I write, and actually surprised myself at how graphic I made this script.
The script is the beginning passage to a one off crime thriller drama, comments are more than welcome, I would love you’re opinions.
SAVILE ROW – PLOT OUTLINE
[Savile Row is a crime thriller, one off drama lasting 110 minutes. The show will be broadcast on Channel 4 and is set in Victorian London]
Set in the Victorian Central London, along the busy high street, Savile Row. The setting is very dingy and dark. But the colour palette of the filming is very bold almost animated.
Phillip a socially respected man is having an affair with Annabelle a local prostitute. Phillip and Annabelle have fallen in love but have to keep their love a secret, as it would break Phillip’s marriage and reputation.
Annabelle is taking care of her sick brother. She needs to buy him medicine but cannot afford it so borrows money from a gang of loan sharks. This gang is a group of 3 brothers Jack, Tom and Peter. Their gang is very undisclosed through the town, and the locals believe they are just three average working brothers.
Annabelle runs out of time to pay the gang back, so the gang have her killed. The killing is brutal. The filming of the murder is exaggerated gore that is very unrealistic.
Phillip leaves his wife (Jane) the morning after Annabelle’s death and goes into town. He sees Bob, the policeman on the way to the tailors, Bob informs Phillip about the death of Annabelle. Phillip is beside himself and goes on a hunt to find out what happened to her.
After his long efforts to find some information he is not successful. He goes into the bakery and notices a pair of earrings he bought for Annabelle on, Molly (the baker’s) ears. After asking where she got the earrings, Molly informs him that they were a gift from her son, who works with her in the bakery.
Phillip follows the son home, approaches him and starts to question him. After a while he gives in and confesses to Phillip what happened to Annabelle and what him and his brothers had done.
The audience are then taken through Annabelle’s murder. The tailor tortured her where one of the brother’s works then her body slaughtered by the butcher where the eldest brother works.
The tailor and the butcher are part of the gang although none of the public knows. The tailor is an old decrepit psycho and the butcher is a vile fat man who feeds the gangs disposed bodies to his dogs.
Phillip is sick with shock then approached by the other brothers and kidnapped. Phillip is then taken to a room where he meets all the gang members including Molly the mother who works in the bakers. They are all in on the killings. Phillip is killed.
The same day Phillip’s wife (Jane) goes into the bakery to get the bread her husband should have got her earlier in the day. She notices the same watch her husband has on the son’s wrist, and comments on it. Molly looks at her son and picks up her rolling pin in a sudden manor. The camera cuts.
